Hope for Bukasa

My first blog!

Who had ever thought we would find ourselves in a discussion about the beauty of us as humans! !!???
We are sitting in Bukasa on mats and blankets creating colourful beads. 14 women and our Mobilizer of "Hope for Bukasa" plus little children. One of us raised the question of how it could be to look beautiful & young in her 50`s ?
The answer came straight away:" It is Jesus who keeps us young when He lives in us"

( Psalms 103:5 who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle). Wonderful reality!!!
As well we are made in God`s own image ( Genesis 1:27). He made us looking at us saying look at her, look at him !It is good! Beautiful! God is so happy, shouldn`t we than not also agree with Him?
But we look to the TV, thinking we suppose to look like what we see there! But how about for example we have one banana tree in our garden, trying to make all the trees look like that banana tree? No! God loves variety! Therefore every one looks different and beautiful!
So one is asking " What about the people who are going for body treatment to a surgeon to change their appearance?"
They pay a lot to change for what God made to enjoy!!!

But far more beautiful suppose to be our inside :
1 Peter 3:4 But let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God`s sight is very precious.
Gentleness, kindness is me precious than outside beauty that is fading and also fragile! Helping others, giving a smile away, sharing and caring for one another!
Some of the ladies heard of an " who is the ugliest man" contest. One man won this contest. He became this way years ago as a result of an accident! Although he is married and caring for his children. The conclusion of the women`s group was : " He couldn`t be the ugliest man as he wasn`t alone plus he still provides for his family!" Wow!!! What a conclusion! And! What a theme to be discussing! !! We all went home still thinking about all of this, greatly moved! God is at work within us!!! Even while necklaces making!!! Amazing!!!

Until next time I`ll take you with us to Bukasa in Uganda...
